Ethics & Editorial Standards

Last updated: June 2026 · Tollywood Focus Kolkata

These principles guide how everyone at Tollywood Focus Kolkata reports, writes and behaves. They reflect widely accepted norms of responsible journalism, adapted to entertainment reporting.

Accuracy and honesty

We do not knowingly publish false or misleading information. We do not fabricate quotes, images or events. Where we are unsure, we say so.

Fairness

We aim to be fair to the people we write about. For significant claims that could damage someone's reputation, we seek their side of the story where practicable and reflect it in our coverage.

Privacy and dignity

Public figures are open to legitimate scrutiny of their public and professional lives, but private individuals — and the private lives of public figures where there is no genuine public interest — deserve respect. We avoid intrusive, harassing or demeaning coverage, and we are especially careful about material involving children, grief, health and personal tragedy.

No harmful or hateful content

We do not publish content that promotes hatred, discrimination or violence against any person or group on the basis of religion, caste, gender, community, sexual orientation or similar grounds. We avoid gratuitously sexualised or vulgar framing.

Independence and conflicts of interest

Our coverage is not for sale. Writers disclose any personal or financial interest that could affect a story, and step aside where a conflict would compromise impartiality. Gifts or hospitality are never allowed to influence our reporting.

Clear labelling of advertising

Sponsored content, partnerships and advertisements are clearly distinguished from independent editorial coverage. See Ownership & Funding.

Plagiarism and credit

We do not plagiarise. We credit sources, original reporting and image rights-holders, and we respect copyright.

Accountability

We hold ourselves accountable to our readers. Concerns about our conduct can be raised through our Grievance Redressal mechanism, and genuine errors are corrected under our Corrections Policy.
